Laura Dimitrova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. She graduated from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria in1982. Since 1991 she is a member of the Union of the Bulgarian Artists.
She is professor in decorative arts at FPPE, “St. Kliment Ohridski†University, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Since 2013 she is PhD. She works in the fields of painting, drawing, collage, paper art, artistic textile.
She lives in Sofia, Bulgaria. Up until now she taken part in more than 200 group exhibitions, plein-air sessions and art projects in Bulgaria and abroad.
Up until now she has had 14 individual exhibitions.

In 2011 she won The Union of Bulgarian Artists’ Scholarship Award for Residency at Cité internationale des arts, Paris , France in 2012.

In 2013 Laura Dimitrova won The Union of Bulgarian Artists’ Scholarship Award for Residency at GEDOK, Munich, Germany in 2014.
In 2015 Laura Dimitrova won The Union of Bulgarian Artists’ Scholarship Award for Residency at Shwandorf, Germany in 2016.
